Best large screen Treadmill Proform Pro 9000

OUR TAKE ON THE PRO 9000

ProForm Pro 9000 has a compact modern look with tech-forward features and a space-efficient design that allows the running deck to nicely foldup. This durable treadmill features a full HD 22-inch touchscreen priced at just over $2,000 with excellent workouts and advanced connected-fitness tech such as AutoAdjust (Live-trainer control) and SmartAdjust options, plus, a wide running deck with a cushioned running surface.

Unique to the Proform 9000 is the -3% decline capability, building knee strength through downhill running targeting the quads. For instance, neither the Peloton Tread, Horizon, or Sole offer downward decline options. The running deck is forgiving to reduce the impact on knees, hips, and back and strikes a balance in cushioning, neither too soft nor too hard, and it is a good size with lots of room for arm swinging and striding.

The motor is the engine that drives this running machine — and the 3.6 CHP motor in the Pro 9000 enables it to achieve and maintain a smooth pace even during incline adjustments. The motor performed well when making quick successive speed and incline changes over varying terrain.

In comparison, as a benchmark test against similar treadmills, the Pro 9000 rates at about 23-24 seconds to go from 1 mph to 12 mph. The Horizon AT 7.8 was the fastest at around 18 seconds, and the Sole rated the slowest at 40 seconds. The Proform 9000 motor felt responsive to changes in speed and inclines. Keep in mind the majority of people run between five to six mph.

ProForm Pro 9000 Treadmill Best value large screen

Proform Pro 9000 with Crisp 22-inch touchscreen and folding running deck Read Comparison Review

Pro 9000 Pros:

  1. Powerful Performance: With a 3.6 CHP motor, it smoothly transitions between low and high speeds.

  2. Dynamic Incline/Decline Range: Its ability to incline up to 12% and decline to -3% benefits different muscle groups and is something competitors do not offer.

  3. Cushioned Deck: Cushioning provides decent joint protection while ensuring a firm enough surface for running.

  4. User-Friendly Features: From intuitive quick-touch buttons and front-facing speakers to the fan for cooling, every element is well-designed for a good user experience.

Pro 9000 Cons:

  1. Subscription Dependent: To get a truly interactive experience, users might feel compelled to maintain an active iFit subscription, adding to the cost of ownership. iFit is one of the best-connected fitness training platforms for treadmills, but if you are more of an independent type of runner, you may want to consider the Pro 2000 or a Nordictrack 1750 treadmill model with smaller displays.

  2. Assembly: If not a DYI individual, some fitness enthusiasts might find the assembly process a bit challenging, necessitating professional assistance.

Why Buy a Pro 9000

Its powerful motor, dynamic incline/decline range, and wide 22-inch touchscreen make it perfect for iFit trainer-led workout sessions, from walks and hikes to intense runs.
