X22i vs. X32i DIFFERENCES EXPLAINED
1. Length of the Running Deck
The actual running deck area of X32i is 5 inches longer than the X22i. The longer deck is generally more comfortable for a taller user and overall roomier for swinging arms and sprinting. The X32i treadmill is a commanding unit once placed in a room but very comfortable to run on. Despite the X22i incline treadmill being 5 inches shorter we still found it comfortable and spacious to use as well – Our take is that if you prefer or have a longer stride this may be a deciding factor for the larger X32i treadmill, and therefore as a note, will require accommodating a bigger footprint in the space you’re planning to use it in.
2. Treadmill Footprint
The larger footprint for the X32i incline treadmill is significant, so make sure you can accommodate its size – check that the dimensions work for your space. Also, both these exercise machines are heavy and do require at least two people to install safely.

3. The Screen Size is Larger on an X32i
The X22i has a 22-inch touchscreen while the X32i model has a wider 32-inch touchscreen. The 10-more inches does make it easy and more engaging to watch iFit workouts on. Graphics seem a little sharper and the colors pop a little more than on the X22i. Both screens can pivot and tilt for a better viewing angle – the iFit metrics definitely stick out more as they display larger on the X32i. That said, the X22i touchscreen is also very easy and fun to watch/use iFit workouts on as well – Our take is while the 32-inch screen is awesome to use, we equally enjoyed using both treadmills, both screen sizes are good, and it's more a matter of preference and budget.
4. The Treadmill Motor Size
The X32i has a slightly more powerful CHP DurX Commercial Plus motor — 4.25 vs. 4.0 CHP for the X22i treadmill. You’re not going to be to tell the difference when using either incline treadmill but, when it comes to treadmill motors larger is always better and both these treadmill’s motors are ample for durability, to support longer use, and multiple users – refer to our NordicTrack Treadmill Buying Guide. The X22i is a tad noisier when running speeds increase but both are so quiet for their size and when walking — very quiet to the point it’s hardly noticeable.
5. The Cup Holder Location
There has been some conversation on social media about the cup holder being behind the screen on the X32i. We did not find it difficult to reach but the location on X22i is more conveniently located, plus there are two pockets on either side for a phone. Our take – the feel on the X32i is more spacious but the layout of the X22i console a little more convenient for instance, the quick-touch buttons are bigger and easy to access. Quick-touch buttons just make it easier to change speed and resistance without having to use the touchscreen to make adjustments. However now with new iFit features like Trainer Live Control and the recently released SmartAdjust option you can now just focus on getting-in the best workout without having to worry about adjustments and when to make them.
