Unboxing / Setup
Really not much to say set-up is straightforward. If this is the first time un-boxing a compressed mattress and you are not sure what to do there are large simple graphic instructions laid out on the inside of the box flaps. Even if the box looks a little worse for wear the mattress is well-protected in multiple layers of a strong-layered plastic wrap that easily unravels as you un-roll the vacuum-sealed compressed mattress —as in the images below (click to expand). Once laid out flat you will see one or two pillows also sealed inside, packaged separately, that start expand along with the mattress when the seal is broken. There were not any noticeable off-gassing or odors present before, during, or after opening. Something you'd expect for a quality mattress.

■ This mattress arrives boxed and is vacuum-sealed in a tight roll-pack. It is somewhat heavy at 94 lbs (117 lbs in the box) for a queen mattress, and it is recommended two people are necessary to move it especially if you are doing stairs.
■Upon opening, we did not experience any (zero) noticeable odors or off-gassing at all, which is always pleasantly surprising. It quickly expanded out to its full height and was ready to use within hours. Additionally, unlike other mattress brands we have reviewed with similar packaging, no cutting tools were required. TIP: Again if this is your first-time experience with your mattress delivered home in the box we recommend opening the box or at least the roll-pack in the room you intend to use it in. An obvious tip, but it does happen, people are so excited to open their Puffy they simply forget the first step.
